Like Christmas in Western countries, many businesses in China stop their operations during Spring Festival to observe one of the biggest holidays of the year. But for those who still need supplies during the Spring Festival holiday, Tmall Supermarket has been offering uninterrupted service in more than 300 cities across the country.

For a seamless shopping experience and smooth logistics flow, Tmall Supermarket and Cainiao have announced an employee-sharing program to recruit more than 10,000 part-time staff from factories in key cities for warehousing, delivery, machinery operation and other roles.

Aside from helping Tmall Supermarket maintain service during the holidays, the program provides job opportunities for migrant workers, many of whom are from companies or factories that have suspended operations during the holidays and are unable to travel home this year.

Strict safety protocols are in place for these staff members, including COVID-19 testing, twice-daily temperature checks and a shift system designed to reduce workload intensity. By increasing its staff capabilities and creating a safe working environment, Tmall Supermarket ensures businesses, workers and consumers can all enjoy a happy and healthy Spring Festival.
